The John Lyons Certification Program is designed to teach John's conditioned response training methods in greater depth to people seeking more knowledge and understanding in the equine field.
This Program is an excellent educational opportunity. For those of you who are looking to improve your personal training knowledge and skills this program will be a beneficial investment. Not only
can you gain more knowledge, you will acquire the skills to increase your income potential as well.
The Certification Program is held at the Cowboy Up Ranch in Parachute, Colorado and is taught by
Josh Lyons. He has studied under his father, John Lyons, for the past ten years and has developed the knowledge and skills to
train others. Josh has helped thousands of people to overcome many riding problems in all riding disciplines and for any breed of horse.
He continues to be a sought after horse trainer and clinician throughout the United States.
The methodology of John Lyons Certification Program is in a league of its own. The uniqueness of the program is the ability for each
individual to develop their own personal strengths to form their own training techniques. The format of the Program is consistently
evolving to give each student the most updated and progressive training techniques available. Each lesson is taught in the safest method possible to ensure the safety of horse, trainer and rider.
This is a very exclusive educational equine program, in which there are a great many people wanting to participate and only a limited
number accepted. Dedication and commitment are essential to your success. Those selected for the Program must adhere to all policies in the contract and be dedicated to its completion.
The Certification Program will help you develop leadership skills and give you insight on how to set up clinics, develop sponsor
relationships, advertise and market your business. The students develop life long friendships along with learning how to interact with others in the equine industry to acquire clients and business contacts.
Upon completing this program, the students’ are John Lyons' Certified, using John's training methods. Josh will teach each student how
to format clinics, apprenticeships and demonstrations utilizing their strengths and skills.
General Information
The Certification Program consists of twelve weeks.
Three weeks per session. (Each week runs Monday through Friday)
Josh Lyons
(John's son) will be the instructor. John Lyons will oversee the program.
Upon graduating, participants will become John Lyons Certified.
Participants will bring the same two horses for the entire program.
No one under 19 years of age accepted.
Participants limited to 15 students per program.
Each week is $1,500.
Total cost of educational program is $18,000.
Traveling expenses, lodging, food, etc. are your responsibility.
Portable box stalls will be provided. Stall fees are $10 per day/per stall.
The Certification Program will be held in Parachute, Colorado. Parachute is located off of I-70. The Ranch is located between Glenwood Springs, CO and Grand Junction, CO, about 45 miles east of Grand Junction.
Lodging and Feed Store information will be provided.
Qualification for Horses
Two broke horses or one broke horse and one unbroke horse (not two unbroke). The broke horses must be able to be ridden on a
trail ride safely. Horses must be able to walk, trot and canter, not necessarily pick up both leads, but that would be ideal. Age is not important, but they both need to be in good health and sound.
Do not bring Stallions to the programs. Please leave them at home and select another.
