Happy HoofWear™ Happy HoofWear™ horseshoes provide therapeutic benefits for horses with navicular, arthritis, laminitis, ringbone, sidebone, elf toe, and founder.
What Benefits Do Happy HoofWear™ Horseshoes Provide?
Our team has designed a horseshoe that is a healthy choice; every day, every ride and everywhere. Happy HoofWear™ horseshoes provide therapeutic benefits for horses with navicular, arthritis, laminitis, ringbone, sidebone, elf toe, and founder. Our shoes support horses with tender and/or bruised soles, and flat feet. Our shoes can be applied using the same tools a farrier might use for applying metal shoes. But Happy HoofWear™ horseshoes provide additional significant benefits including:
• Lowers concussion for hooves, joints, bones, ligaments & tendons.
• Therapeutic uses include help with founder, navicular, arthritis and overall horse comfort.
• The shock absorbing, lightweight material and the thickness of the Happy HoofWear™ shoe absorbs impact for softer landings & provides cushion for protection of soles.
• Durable, often lasts twice as long as metal.
• Bar design transfers weight to the frog/Increases blood flow.
• Happy HoofWear™ shoes promote hoof growth and allow the sole to be left much thicker, giving natural protection to the foot.
• Promotes open heels; our shoes flex in the heels as the nails pivots within the channel.
• Our horseshoes’ wear pattern alleviates pinching or sore spots when the sole is trimmed flat.
• Reduces snow ball effect as it mimics barefoot movement.
• Happy HoofWear™ shoes can be nailed on, glued on, used with screws, pads, and studs.
• Available in ten colors and four sizes.
What Is The Traction of Happy HoofWear™ Shoes In Gravel, Grass, Asphalt, Chip n Seal, Dirt, Stalls, Sand, Fields and Arenas?
While no shoes is completely slip proof, Happy HoofWear™ shoes have been tested in each of these environments, and with our exclusive 3 point grip design provide excellent traction that is often surpasses that provided by steel shoes. In addition to excellent traction, Happy HoofWear™ shoes provide superior cushioning in all environments allowing a horse to move out with a consistent stride that lessens the impact on the heels and soles of the foot. In turn, this relaxes the back, shoulder, and hip muscles, greatly reducing the risk of injury due to poor footing.
How Do Happy HoofWear™ Shoes Do On The Trails?
Trail Riders have some unique challenges as they must navigate different types of terrain during a ride. Some horses have to walk on trails with rocks and stones, and others have to deal with sand, mud, slate and even chip and seal roadways. We have found that regardless of the terrain you may have to travel through, Happy HoofWear™ can take you and your horse there... safely and in comfort, not to mention style. Our shoes' exclusive 3 Point Traction Design assists riders and horses by giving them a more secure foundation between the horse's hoof and the ground. For those who want additional traction, studs can be used, as well.
How Do I Find The Best Size For My Horse Wearing Happy HoofWear™ Horseshoes?
Our farrier consultants and the Happy HoofWear™ Team want to ensure you have a positive shoeing experience. Happy HoofWear™ horseshoes are a front pattern shoe available in four sizes (000, 00, 0, 1).
Getting the right fit is the first step to your success. To make this simple, informative and user friendly, we can help you determine which size you need. See our SIZING CHART which includes a true to size picture and all the specific measurements you might need including length, width, web and thickness.
What Will My Farrier Need To Know?
Applying a Happy HoofWear™ front pattern horseshoe is very straightforward. Our horseshoes are farrier friendly, because professional farriers were part of the design team. No special tools or knowledge is required. We provide detailed application instructions in our Farrier’s Guide, but here are a few pointers.
• Proper trimming and balancing is important. For our shoes, just be sure to leave a flat spot in the sole the width of the horseshoe.
• OUR SIZING GUIDE provides a horseshoe pattern in the four sizes we offer and includes the measurements for each. Make sure you cover the WIDTH as the excess heel can be nipped or rasped.
• Most Farriers apply our shoes using nails, like the #5 or #6 city head or E head #55 or #60. Farriers can also use glue, screws, pads, casting and studs. SLIM SHANK nails should NOT be used.
REMEMBER: if you don’t want the toe clip, simply nip it off.
• Happy HoofWear™ horseshoes have a recessed continuous nail crease that even extends into the quarters. Farriers have the power to decide the best place for the nail. They can drill a pilot hole (using a 5/8 bit), or simply drive the nail through the shoe, at the proper angle, without predrilling.
